Deborah Richards is a talented Fiber Artist specializing in various techniques. Her passion for felting and weaving brings unique textures and colors to life in every piece.
Her art often mixes unexpected elements with fiber such as metal, stone and wood.
She has a special place in her heart for sheep, especially conservation breeds like Icelandic and Navajo-Churro. Her love of sheep is only exceeded by her love for the sweet and gentle alpaca whose fiber she uses in many of her wearable art pieces.
Born and raised in Reno, NV, she has recently returned after living in Santa Barbara, CA for over 30 years. When she’s not creating, you can find her spending time with her bunnies, volunteering with a STEM program at a local elementary school, reading or traveling to alpaca farms. She is pictured here with Marigold (top left) and Zulu (bottom right), two of her favorite alpacas.
